PRACTICE MANAGER

Mrs Alison Lowerson. Responsible to the doctors for the smooth day-to-day running of all administrative and personnel aspects of the practice. Any complaints or constructive comments you have regarding the practice should be directed to the Practice Manager.

RECEPTIONISTS

These ladies are here to help you. They have a difficult job as first point of contact for all phone calls and enquiries. When telephoning for medical attention the Receptionist may ask a few details. They have been trained to make these enquiries so that we can help you in the most appropriate way.

PRACTICE NURSES

Qualified Nurses provide a whole range of nursing services. Nursing treatment is available to you by appointment for dressings, immunisation, ear syringing, routine cervical smears, and travel advice. The nurses also run blood pressure, diabetes Well Person and asthma clinics and provide advice about emergency contraception. The practice provides a minor injuries service for Sleaford and the sourrounding area during normal surgery hours. In addition, we have a Health Care Support Worker who carries out various roles including smoking cessation sessions, ECGs, Audiometry and Blood Pressure appointments

The practice also has a dedicated Phlebotomist. (Blood tests)

DISTRICT NURSES

Provide home nursing and some Treatment Room nursing at the surgery. They are normally contactable at Riversdale Clinic or through the surgery.  

HEALTH VISITORS

Provide advice and support on all health matters to the under 5 age group in their homes. They are contactable at Riversdale Clinic (click here for contact phone number)

MIDWIVES

Provide two antenatal clinics per week (Monday and Friday) by appointment through the surgery. They may also be contacted at Laundon House Clinic (contact telephone).

DISPENSERS

Our dispensary is run by qualified and experienced dispensers who provide a dispensing service within our dispensing area to patients living in outlying villages without a pharmacy.

SECRETARIAL

We employ full time secretarial staff to deal with the enormous amount of paperwork generated daily within the practice and provide essential liaison with hospitals regarding patient referrals or tests.

GP REGISTRARS IN TRAINING

We are an approved training practice for doctors wishing to enter General Practice. They are fully qualified doctors who will be working under close supervision from experienced GP trainers in the practice.These doctors will have hospital experience and are now gaining experience in General Practice.

You may be offered an appointment with a GP Registrar. When booking you should be informed who they are. You may of course wish to wait for your usual doctor. As part of their training they are expected to video some consultations. In this case you will be asked for your consent and you can refuse. In all cases the videos will only be used for assessing the doctor and will only be viewed by their trainer or examiners. Afterwards they will be destroyed.
